Q: Can you please specify the quantity of Hosted VoIP handsets and analog ports/lines (with the Hosted VoIP solution option) that would reside per location. This will determine the bandwidth of the access connection that would be necessary per location to support the Hosted VoIP. Are the 3 locations listed that display the same address, 3 different buildings? Is there any existing school owned fiber connectivity between these facilities today that is used for building to building communication? Can you provide the vendors/makes/models for the PA, Intercom, and Security system that you are requesting to integrate with the Hosted VoIP?
A: The current solution uses PRI to provide dial tone. School infrastructure, switching and routing may not support an IP solution. Please include a traditional connection to the PSTN in addition to an option for additional bandwidth - to support an IP solution. Do not rely on the existing WAN/LAN for transport. Additional equipment and/or configuration may be needed to support an IP solution.
