Q: While a total number of PoE switches is specified, I do not see a breakdown as to the number of switches per location. Can you please give an estimate as to how many PoE switches are required on a per site basis? Also, the number of wiring closets involved per site would be helpful. Thanks

In addition to that, can you provide a quantity of conference or other basic phones (non-analog), Standard (includes unified messaging, standard features, and soft client), and Premium (includes standard, plus more features and mobility/follow me service). Also, can you identify the quantity of receptionist consoles that will be required. The quantity of analog ports/lines per location is also requested, please. This information is necessary to provide a detailed design and accurate pricing model.

Q: Can you please specify the quantity of Hosted VoIP handsets and analog ports/lines (with the Hosted VoIP solution option) that would reside per location. This will determine the bandwidth of the access connection that would be necessary per location to support the Hosted VoIP. Are the 3 locations listed that display the same address, 3 different buildings? Is there any existing school owned fiber connectivity between these facilities today that is used for building to building communication? Can you provide the vendors/makes/models for the PA, Intercom, and Security system that you are requesting to integrate with the Hosted VoIP?
A: The current solution uses PRI to provide dial tone. School infrastructure, switching and routing may not support an IP solution. Please include a traditional connection to the PSTN in addition to an option for additional bandwidth - to support an IP solution. Do not rely on the existing WAN/LAN for transport. Additional equipment and/or configuration may be needed to support an IP solution. Q: In order to provide accurate costs for LAN wiring it is necessary to know the locations of the switches. Can you provide that information? Also, regarding the wireless additions, can you please provide the existing software version for the 5508 controllers?
A: Please make and outline the necessary assumptions to make and submit your proposal. Assume all IOS versions are current. If it makes sense, provide a cost per foot to install cabling/drops.

Q: For the P-1 Voip, can you clarify the need for 120 POTs lines? Are you asking the bidder to include that in the system, or simply allow for the system to have that capacity?
A: This is purely an option for consideration. Some voice services may not utilize Interconnected VoIP.

Q: Are there maps available to help us understand pathways and distances required for copper and fiber cabling?
A: Not at this time. If this information can be made available it will, but please do not wait for this detail in preparing responses. Please include the cost per drop as requested. If your pricing is based on length, please provide the cost per foot. Otherwise, the cost per foot will be calculated based on the information provided. For Fiber runs, please estimate the IDF/MDF connection to be 300 feet, or if your experience tells you otherwise, please price accordingly. For evaluation purposes a cost per foot will be calculated. Please provide this information or make it obvious on how to calculate this information.

Q: Is there an inventory list of existing equipment (by location) to be supported prior to installation of the new hardware requested?
A: Maintenance on existing equipment is not being sought at this time.

Q: Are the Internal Connections requirements aggregate District wide requirements or are they per site (school) listed?
A: Some equipment is listed as site specific and most is listed in aggregate with per site requirements. Much of the internal connections are to support new cabling needs.

Q: The priority 2 network description asks for the new WAP's to interoperate with the current controllers, what is the current controllers being used and how many controllers and WAP's are currently installed in all the schools? Everything seems to be Cisco, are you open to any other vendor hardware? Thank You, Kyle
A: 2 Cisco 5508 controllers with 100 licenses each 200 access points. New devices must seamlessly integrate into the existing environment from both an operations and management perspective. The district currently uses Cisco 1600s.
