Q: Priority two: Please confirm on the WAPs and Switches not configuration labor should be included in base proposal. Equipment to be dropped ship to site. Configuration needs to be submitted as an optional costs.

Q: Will you be needing cat6 patch panels or do you have existing cat6 panels with room for expansion?
A: Please propose equipment and services as sought within the Invitation to Bid. Please consider including contingency fees (so any component variations in price may be addressed, if needed), if contingency is part of your normal business practice. Note: the contingency fees will be included in the price evaluation.
Q: For your firewall requirements under Category 2, it seems this device will serve as a single ingress and egress point for 6 locations. If this is the case, can you provide an estimate of how many total devices will be behind it?
A: We are looking into this answer, but it may not become available prior to bids due date/time. Please use the information as provided. This will also help to establish a baseline of expectation with respect to product choice. Sample part number: ASA5525-K9 - ASA 5525-X with SW, 8GE, AC, and 3DES/AES. If substitute equipment is proposed, please include absolute evidence of equivalence, and ability to seamlessly integrate. Failure to do so may warrant disqualification. The mention of any manufacturer, make, or equipment model specifications provided are meant to provide an example or sense of configuration and similar and/or equivalent equipment is acceptable and shall be considered. The applicant seeks a solution that is compatible with the existing network infrastructure. The proposed solution must provide functionality similar to the functionality of the equipment referenced or listed. Proposed Network Equipment must seamlessly integrate into the existing environment and take advantage of capital investments already made. If similar or equivalent equipment is proposed, the Bidder must provide documented proof of interoperability.
Q: How many total devices(PC, Laptops, Mobile devices, tablets, chromebooks, etc) are school owned?
Does the district have a 1-2-1 or BYOD initiative, if so how many total students do you have enrolled in your district?
A: Please provide pricing for the services and equipment being sought as described within the Invitation to Bid.
Q: On page 20 of the RFP, the switches are outlines but the quantities for the SFPs on those are not listed. Could you provide the quantities for those SFPs?
A: Please remember to organize your Item 21 responses as requested. The information listed at: www.mye-binder.com/rfpqa_files/BEFCWQ.pdf may provide a more readable and understandable request. The SFP quantities are listed as separate line items, as are all "parts".
Note: the equipment should match the items listed in the request - there are no material changes intended. The list is a sample and similar or equivalent equipment is sought.

Q: Can you specify the number of cable drops needed? How many are new AP drops? Will new runs be needed whatsoever? How many drops are voice/data drops not needed for APs?
A: Please note the "Up to" amounts contained within the RFP and the location of the drops. Additional information is contained within the descriptions. As appropriate, please make sure that pricing for quantity 1 of any and all line items are easily identified.
Q: Will trenching be needed for this e-rate project?
A: Trenching is not required under this Invitation to Bid.
Q: Does the district have a preferred manufacturer for cabling, connectors and related components?
A: During the District's final review, after FCDLs are issued and before final approval to is granted by the District, TUSD may request and/or approve product substitutions based on the existing environment so that things "match". Please consider including contingency fees (so any component variations in price may be addressed, if needed), if contingency is part of your normal business practice. Note: the contingency fees will be included in the price evaluation.
Q: Is the School district currently running on a Cisco system? Do they currently already have APs in the school that are Cisco based?
A: Yes. A mix of AIR-LAP1131AG-A-K9, AIR-CAP1602I-A-K9, and AIR-LAP1042N-A-K9 are deployed. Thatcher prefers that the products and services being sought integrate with the existing infrastructure.
