Q: In the ITB, you've indicated that "Proposed Network Equipment must seamlessly integrate into the existing environment and take advantage of capital investments already made. If similar or equivalent equipment is proposed, teh Bidder must provide documented proof of interoperability." However, you have not provided any information about the existing environment or capital investments in either document. Can you please describe these?
A: The network is mostly built with equipment provided from Cisco. The requested equipment is intended to serve as an example of the equipment that would seamlessly integrate into the existing environment and take advantage of capital investments already made. The Applicant is not expert in all manufacturer's equipment and/or it's interoperability. The examples and statements are provided the examples to help vendors understand requirements.

Q: What state contracts and co-ops does the district do business with? Which of these are applicable to this ITB?
A: There are many state contracts and co-ops. Below are a couple examples... Mohave Educational Services (www.mesc.org) National IPA/TCPN: (www.nationalipa.org) 1GPA (www.1gpa.org) US Communities (www.uscommunities.org) State Contracts (https://app.az.gov By listing these examples the District is not stating that it intends to buy services from one of these state contracts and/or co-ops. They are merely examples. Bids shall be evaluated per the criteria listed in the Invitation to Bid.

Q: 1. “The Service Provider must provide pricing based on a State Contract or with a Co-op that SCVUSD participates.” a. Can you please offer some clarification? Does pricing have to strictly adhere to pricing schedules laid out in these contracts? Do bidders have to hold these contracts to submit bids? Can you please provide the pricing schedules? 2. Clarification of current environment and needs a. Special routing or VLANs configured on current switches? If yes, how many/what for? b. Would fiber connections be required at any new proposed switch? i. If so, is there any special connections required to run fiber over long distance? ii. If so, multimode or single mode? c. Are these switches replacing existing devices or are they new? d. What are the make/model of existing switches? e. What type of equipment will need to be powered by these new switches? f. Do these locations use VoIP phones? g. Where will new switches be placed? A: Initial Response: Service Provider must be awarded a state contract or participate with a Co-op that the District utilizes. Which state contract or Co-op do you plan to use. Please utilize the information within the ITB to propose options on equipment. Update on 1/17: Per Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District #35: "Friendships do not constitute a conflict of interest. We must make it clear to this vendor as he is putting them on the table as a benefit that he should not use that information to secure a bid/contract." Note: Providing Gratuities are unacceptable. Conflict of Interest has been addressed with staff. Evaluations will be made based on the criteria listed in the Invitation to bid. Questions 1 and 3 have been answered. Question 2. If yes, how many/what for? -Yes, there are 10 VLANs (one for each site) as well as application specific VLANs like voice, data and wireless. b. Would fiber connections be required at any new proposed switch? Yes i. If so, is there any special connections required to run fiber over long distance? -No, majority are LC and some are SC. ii. If so, multimode or single mode? -Multimode is used to interconnect campus devices and we are fairly certain our WAN vendor uses single mode for WAN connectivity. c. Are these switches replacing existing devices or are they new? -Replacing existing d. What are the make/model of existing switches? -Replacing 3500s and 3750s e. What type of equipment will need to be powered by these new switches? -WAPs and Phones f. Do these locations use VoIP phones? -Yes g. Where will new switches be placed? (Both in terms of buildings and physical spaces such as server closets) -Within the school buildings, in existing racks or cabinets. They may be in a server closet.
