Q: Question: Is the Invitation to Bid associated with the 470 Application # 180013421 for Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District #35 intended to be handled as a formal sealed competitive bidding process under the Arizona State Procurement Code? If so, can service providers attach a form of contract they propose to use?
A: Yes. Service Provider Contracts may be submitted.
Q: We see your new RFP for a Fiber WAN. I thought you went with Conterra last year? Why the new RFP?
A: The district is looking to have a contingency plan in place if the current leased lit fiber solution is delayed. In addition, they are seeking Internet in all ways possible (transport agnostic), up to 3GB... The goal of the Internet service is to scale with ease while maintaining cost effectiveness (basic firewall services may be included). Additional service requests are also posted. Please ask if you have specific questions.
Q: We intend to respond to the form 470
A: Thanks for your interest.
Q: As the network will be deployed long before 01 July 2018 can I just quote the new site and the IA?
A: Absolutely.
Q: Do you want one firewall that covers all schools in the district? What is the bandwidth? How many concurrent users do you anticipate at any given time?
A: The district is looking at all options. One firewall could work. The school may deploy 1Gbps of Internet next year and would like to have the firewall scalable to 3Gbps. Concurrent users is tough to gauge. There are roughly 3500 students plus staff.
