Q: Is there fiber connecting closets/buildings? If so, what type? What number of 24 & 48 port switches (or other number of ports)? Are there closets with more than one switch that should be stacked?
A: Is there fiber connecting closets/buildings? If so, what type? There is fiber connecting four buildings, there are two wireless bridges connecting two other buildings. The fiber is single mode. What number of 24 & 48 port switches (or other number of ports)? The Elementary has 5 24 port switches, stacked, the computer labs have 48 port switches. Are there closets with more than one switch that should be stacked? The middle will probably need more than 48 ports. If you are unsure on what to propose, please provide an option. After the window closes the applicant will review the bids accordingly (with respect to the evaluation criteria). If questions, concerns or configuration issues arise, clarification shall be sought.

Q: Are the switches just to power the AP’s? Or do you have other POE devices that will be using the switches?
A: All switches are to power AP’s no other POE devices…

Q: Switches: Are these going to be Layer 2 switches? Do you need any full Layer 3 switches for the Core?
A: Are these going to be Layer 2 switches? Do you need any full Layer 3 switches for the Core? I think all are full 3 layer switches. Please provide options.

Q: How many WAPSs in HS? How many in ES? Do you have any high density areas? Are all ceilings drop ceilings? Or are some solid surface or beams?

Q: How many students per school? How many users/devices per room? Is the quantity of AP’s a design with an AP in each room or is this a coverage model?

Q: Are the wireless APs mentioned going to integrate into an existing installation? If yes, what is the district using today for wireless.
A: The applicant is currently using HP switches and if a preference had to be made with respect to WAPs, Aruba devices would be selected.
